The Human Kind Foundation
8th February 2024
P6 and 7 have been working with The Human Kind Foundation to raise money for local charities. As part of this project, they thought about the importance of being philanthropists and how even small acts of kindness can make a huge difference to others. They collected money in small giving boxes and earned a signature for every act of kindness carried out either at home or in school. These acts of kindness were turned into money by The Human Kind Foundation, who also matched what the children had put into their giving boxes. P6 organised and ran a tuck shop for the whole school just before Christmas too. Tesco's, Ballymena very kindly donated snacks to sell and selection boxes for the winners of the 'golden tickets' hidden inside 10 of the sweet bags.
This means, a total of £700 was collected and the children decided to split the money between 3 local charities; The Children's Heartbeat Trust, Coaching for Christ and The NHSCT Macmillan Unit in Antrim Area Hospital.
Well done P6 and 7 and thank you all the children and parents who brought in money for the tuck shop. Thank you also to Sandara Kelso-Robb from The Human Kind Foundation and Tesco for their generous donation.
